VIAREGGIO, ITALY – Artist Ferri Palermo had to switch from painting a portrait when his subject, Patrizio Fingeri, dropped dead.
“Now this will be a still life instead,” said Palermo. “It should be simple to complete the painting before anything drastic happens.”
Palermo expects that rigor mortis could set in by late afternoon. He will put the finishing touches on the work before calling the coroner, and Fingeri’s family will figure out what happened once they come by to pick him up.
