George Foreman to deli: “I’m not going to pay a lot for this muffuletta”

NEW ORLEANS, LA – Long-time spokesman for Meineke Discount Mufflers and world heavyweight champion boxer George Foreman declared to a deli worker that he was not going to pay a lot for the muffuletta he had just ordered.

“Um, okay,” replied worker Brad Scheller, who is 17 and has never seen the commercials in which Foreman delivers the catch phrase “I’m not going to pay a lot for this muffler,” or heard of the boxer himself.

“He was a nice man, but the pun went right past me at the time,” said Scheller. “Now that I look back at the moment, yeah, it makes sense. If I see him again, I’ll definitely laugh along.”

Foreman reportedly paid retail price for his muffuletta and enjoyed it without comment.
